Peyronie’s Disease Q & A
What is Peyronie’s disease?
Peyronie’s disease is an inflammatory disorder defined by a buildup of scar tissue that causes your penis to curve or bend. This curvature makes it much too painful to sustain an erection during sexual intercourse.
It is not uncommon for men to have some penile curvature, but Peyronie’s causes your penis to drastically bend in one direction. In some cases, Peyronie’s deforms your penis so much that men are not even able to have sexual intercourse.
How can you treat Peyronie’s disease?
The professionals at Trident Health Group are exclusive providers of our Acoustic Wave Therapy Protocol. They are the originators of the innovative protocol and are personally trained to administer the treatment.
Acoustic Wave Therapies, like our AWT Protocol, are noninvasive, pain-free, proven methods that break down penile scar tissue. Without the scar tissue, your penis can resume normal erectile function.

What causes Peyronie’s disease?
Unfortunately, the cause of Peyronie’s is unknow. Researchers believe that it occur from constant or severe injury to your penis. The injury provokes your penis to create scar tissue which then builds up causing the deformity.
During a normal erection, the elastic tissues in your penis expand and blood enters the vessels. With Peyronie’s disease, the portion of your penis that has scar tissue is unable to stretch properly and your penis curves or severely bends.
However, there are men who have the disease but never experienced an injury and but instead have high cholesterol, diabetes, or another underlying condition that contributes to artery obstruction.
What are the symptoms of Peyronie’s disease?
Peyronie’s disease results in irregularities, bending, and curvatures of the penis. Other indications of the condition are decreased erections, shortening of the penis, and complete loss of an erection during intercourse. The symptoms of Peyronie’s disease usually lead to anxiety and stress.
